Racism is a structural element and as such, has to be analysed and addressed. This subject has been addressed at the UdG for many years. The subject has been addressed by the Unit for Social Commitment, the Campus of Cohesion and Social Commitment, several chairs, initiatives in bachelor's and master’s degree studies and others. The firm will of continuing to make progress in the analysis and work relating to racism in Catalonia through the driver group at the UdG, and the understanding with the Government of Catalonia, which shares this same goal, is defined in the proposal to create a chair at the University of Girona on racism, a permanent structure that helps to order, give visibility to and promote actions and create a stable line of work that also facilitates a solid link with local organisations and institutions to work together in this area.
