Tom Sharpe Chair of Literature

Chair Grant

The Tom Sharpe Chair of Literature announced the 2025 Grant with the aim of promoting research and dissemination on the relationships between literature in the Catalan language and literature in the English language.

The jury, composed of Eva Espasa, Laura Gimeno, Jordi Julià, and Jordi Sala decided to award the 2025 Grant to: ‘I Loved Barcelona, with all my Weak Heart. The Irish poet and the Catalan city’, by Richard Mansell, who presented his research project on 9 October at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Girona.

As the Tom Sharpe Chair of Literature Grant is biennial, the 2027 Grant will be announced in June 2026 and will follow the same terms and conditions as the 2025 edition.

This Grant has received funding from the Board of Trustees of the University of Girona and the Girona Provincial Council.
