Chair of Social Responsibility and Sustainability

The Chair was created with the aim of developing training, research and transfer activities on issues related to Social Responsibility and Sustainability in the areas of economy, sustainability and solidarity. Taking into account the fact that at the UdG there are already two chairs working on similar issues, the Chair of Family Business and the Chair of Entrepreneurship, the SRS Chair will coordinate with them where there are common elements. On the other hand, the SRS Chair will also work closely with other UdG services linked to sustainability and solidarity, such as the Green Office and the Development Cooperation Office.

Actions and commitments of the Chair

  • Organisation of conferences and seminars.
  • Participation of the members of the Chair in seminars, congresses, courses and events related to these issues.
  • Promotion of SRS-related research projects.
  • Fostering social commitment within companies.
  • Highlighting social cohesion tasks and the role of the entrepreneur as someone committed to the growth and development of a region.
  • Collaboration with Càritas Diocesana de Girona to promote CSR and solidarity in the Girona business world.
  • Collaboration with the different services of the UdG that deal with these issues: the Development Cooperation Office, the Green Office, etc.
  • Collaboration with the UdG Chairs of Family Business and Entrepreneurship.
  • The link with the Santander Network of CSR Chairs.
  • Establishment of links with international networks working along these lines.
  • Participation in key forums and organisations in these areas.
  • Development of cross-disciplinary teaching materials on CSR that can be used in the different university degrees.
