University of Girona grants for master's-degree students

Call for enrolment grants for studying one of the master's degrees at the UdG included in the call.

  

Recipients: students who wish to enrol on an official master's degree programme at the UdG and meet the academic progress requirements established in the terms and conditions of the call by the day of the application deadline.

To apply for these grants applicants must be pre-enrolled on a master's programmes included in the call and have an average grade in their bachelor's degree, pre-EHEA degree or diploma academic transcript equal to or above 6.5.

REQUIREMENTS:

For first-year master's degree students:

  • Being in possession of a university degree or certificate substituting a degree that gives access to the master's degree issued by a university in the Spanish university system or having the official recognition or declaration of equivalence by the corresponding Ministry of a university degree issued by a foreign university.
  • For students who have studied at the UdG, they must have passed 240 credits of bachelor's degree studies by the deadline for submitting applications.
  • Being a resident of the European Union.
  • Having an average grade on the course providing access to a master's degree equal to or higher than 6.5.
  • Not be in possession of or meet the requirements for obtaining another official master's degree.
  • Having pre-enrolled on any of the official master's degrees listed in Annexe I of the call.
  • Having paid the fee for the study of the documentation and academic record for the selection and assignment of the candidacy for the Master's degree, in accordance with the current price decree for the academic services of Catalan public universities.
  • Pre-enrolment on the master’s degree must be completed with all the required documentation.
  • Not having received this grant in previous calls.

For second-year students in a master's degree programme of 90 or 120 recognised credits:

  • Have an average grade in the first year of a master's degree equal to or greater than 6.5.
  • Having passed 100% of the credits in the first year of the master's degree.
  • Not having received this grant more than once in previous calls.

Amount of the grant: The maximum amount of each grant will be determined by the Government of Catalonia in the decree establishing the prices for academic services at public universities in Catalonia for the 2026-2027 academic year.The grant will cover a maximum of the amount of the academic tuition fees for 60 credits of an official master's degree course at the University of Girona for the academic year 2026-2027 (30 credits for students enrolling in the second year of a 90-credit master's degree course).

Submission of applications: to be submitted online using the platform Banc de Santander (Santander Open Academy).Anyone interested will receive confirmation of the submission of their application by email.Without this confirmation email, the application will not be considered as submitted.

The application for the grant must be processed using the DNI or passport number.

Application-submission deadline:

Two deadlines for submitting applications will be established.

The first deadline for submitting applications will begin the day after the publication of the call on the noticeboard of the electronic headquarters of the University of Girona and will end on 17 July.

The second submission period will begin on 23 July and end on 31 August.

  • Applicants for the Erasmus Mundus master’s (FRP++, IFROS) will be able to request the grant provided they receive classes at the University of Girona.Contact the coordinator for the master’s for specific information.

The call is for 2 grants, one for the Master in Science and Technology of Water Resources and the other for the Master in Environmental Change and Socio-Ecological Transition.

Aimed at:

Students who have pre-registered for the Master in Water Resources Science and Technology or the Master in Environmental Change and Socio-Ecological Transition and who have a university bachelor's degree, or equivalent, which gives access to official master's degree studies, whether they are European Union students or from outside the European Union.

Although grants can be requested for both master’s programmes, only one grant will be granted per person.

Candidates must:

  • Hold a university degree (or an equivalent qualification) that is valid for admission to official master's programmes at the Universitat de Girona.
  • Have completed the pre-enrolment process for the Master in Water Resources Science and Technology, or the Master in Environmental Change and Socio-ecological Transition.
  • To have paid the corresponding administration fee to the academic services for university master's degrees, in accordance with the pricing decree in force for academic services at Catalan public universities.
  • Pre-enrolment on the master’s degree must be completed with all the required admission documentation.

Financial support: The maximum awarded for each grant will be €4,660,20.

The amount corresponding to the academic prices of educational character of the enrolment will be discounted directly from the maximum amount of each grant of 60 credits of the programme of corresponding official master's degree for course 2025-2026.The maximum amount of each grant will be determined by the Government of Catalonia in the decree establishing the prices for academic services at public universities in Catalonia for the 2025-2026 academic year. The remaining amount for each grant maximum (€3.000) will be paid, if applicable, to the student, for carrying out, presenting and defending their master’s thesis during academic year 2025-2026, on a subject that will be agreed upon with the ATL Chair of Safe Water, and one that will be related to drinking water.

There are two types of grant:

a) 5 grants for students of the first year of the master

a) 4 grants for students of the second year of the master

The value of the grant per student will be equivalent to the total amount of the academic fees related to education for the enrolment of 60 credits on the aforementioned official master's degree at the University of Girona for the 2025-2026 academic year.This amount will be the sum established by the Generalitat de Catalunya in the decree establishing the prices of academic services at public universities in Catalonia for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Other mandatory amounts linked to enrolment, such as those corresponding to file management or online teaching and administrative services, or school insurance, must be paid by the person receiving the grant.

Requirements: (must be met on the deadline for submitting applications):

a) Having formalised pre-enrolment for the Master in Intelligent Robotic Systems with all the required documents for admission, for newly admitted students.And having an average academic mark equal to or above 6.5.

b) Having paid the corresponding administrative fee for academic services for university master's degrees, in accordance with the current decree in force on prices for academic services at Catalan public universities, for newly admitted students. 

c) Having been accepted to do the Master in Intelligent Robotic Systems.

d) Having completed the first year of the master’s degree during the academic year 2024-2025 and having an average academic record grade for the first year of the master's degree equal to or above 6.5, for second-year students.
