Insurance policies for UdG students

The University of Girona has three types of insurance policies for students:

  • School insurance. Compulsory for students of official study programmes who are less than 28 years old. It can be taken out by Spanish nationals, foreign residents and Europeans. It does not cover the students undertaking University of Girona-specific study programmes. It costs €1.12 per year.
  • Accident insurance. Compulsory for students undertaking official study programmes who are more than 28 years old, non-resident foreign students and students undertaking University of Girona-specific study programmes. It costs €9.50 per year.
  • Mobility insurance. Covers students who participate in mobility and internship programmes abroad, whether (incoming) or (outgoing). It is compulsory for the latter. The cost depends on the country of destination.

If this requirement is not met, the student can obtain a European Health Insurance Card with the enrolment receipt and a document accrediting the official study programme that he or she will undertake abroad.
