Chair of didactics of mathematics M. Antònia Canals

In accordance with UdG Chair Regulations (eBOU-732), the chair has a director, an advisory board, a monitoring committee and collaborators. It also has a part-time primary-school teacher from the Government of Catalonia’s Ministry of Education who carries out teaching tasks related to teacher training and upkeep in GAMAR, in addition to the administrative support of the ICE Josep Pallach from the UdG.

Advisory Board

  • Dr Claudi Alsina.Catalan mathematician, PhD holder in mathematics from the University of Barcelona with postgraduate studies from the University of Massachusetts (USA), he specialises in functional equations, visualisation, mathematics education, fuzzy logic, geometry of Gaudí, Catalan metrology and in the dissemination of mathematics. Full professor of mathematics at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, retired in 2016.
  • Dr Carme Burgués.Emeritus professor of the University of Barcelona in the Department of Didactics of the Experimental Sciences and Mathematics. Holder of an undergraduate degree in mathematical sciences and primary school teacher. He has specialised in mathematics teaching and learning in compulsory education. He is an advisor to the Department of Education in curricular aspects, evaluation and mathematical competences.
  • Mr Anton Aubanell. Full professor of mathematics at Sa Palomera Secondary School (Blanes) and teacher in UB’s Department of Applied Mathematics. He has carried out extensive dissemination work to improve the teaching of mathematics in Catalonia.
  • Ms Montserrat Torra. Catalan primary school teacher specialised in the didactics of mathematics in the early years, with extensive dissemination work. In the last years of her professional career, she has lent her services to the Government of Catalonia’s Centre for Specific Educational Resources to Support Innovation and Educational Research (CESIRE).
