UdG strategy

The governing body at the University of Girona sets new targets for achieving its mission as well as the actions to achieve them. These targets have resulted in the University of Girona's strategic plan, the “Combination of Intelligences”, and a number of sectoral master plans, that set out the actions specific to each area and the actions to be undertaken.

These plans identify those responsible for the actions and their time line. Furthermore, their achievement is quantified in the form of indicators for appraising the degree of achievement and to ensure accountability.

This strategic planning can be complemented with factors including but not limited to, on the one hand, programme contracts with centres, departments, institutes or research groups and, on the other, the strategic plans of the different university services.

At a more cross-disciplinary level, different regional and even international strategic projects are in place. Sectoral Campus, European University (ACROSS) internationalisation and social commitment Shefce projects have been implemented at a regional level and the work dedicated to achieving the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) at a global level.

This network of strategic action aims to make the University’s objectives clear as first step in achieving them and, to this end, involve the entire community in the continuous improvement of the entire institution as a core part of the Quality Policy. This strategy includes an implementation, review, improvement and accountability cycle before the corresponding governing bodies and society in general.
