The CIMA 360 project aims to support the development of skills to tackle the challenges of climate change and encourage the population to stay active in mountain areas through various measures:
- Strengthening education programmes in the Pyrenees,
- Developing versatility,
- Anticipating changes in activities and professions,
- Facilitating connections between education, employment, and life in mountain areas.
Based on different pilot areas located in the mountains of Béarn (64), Arièja (09), Alt Urgell, Ripollès and Aran (Catalonia), the aim is to support the adaptation of economic activities and allow the population to take root in their territory.
Adopting a cross-border approach, the CIMA 360 project aims to establish a common framework for education in mountain areas with the aim of designing or strengthening initial or ongoing education programmes, developing versatility by proposing experiments that promote cross-border recognition and integrating transition issues into educational programmes and content.
Beyond the six project partners and the three pilot territories, the CIMA 360 project aims to broaden the debate to include all stakeholders in the mountain range in order to collectively address the evolution of competences and maintain active populations in mountain areas. Deliverables produced at the end of the project will be designed to be integrated into existing programmes.
