Social Commitment

Commitment to society

The University of Girona believes that one of the basic aims that all its actions need to be imbued with is a commitment to society. As a public institution, the UdG ensures its actions end up bringing improvements and benefits to every citizen, and it is committed to doing this by putting the emphasis on overcoming inequalities and working to create living conditions that contribute to the well-being of the whole of society.

That is why the UdG promote and safeguards such values as health care, care for the environment, social justice and access to an inclusive and quality education for everyone. And it is committed to doing this in all its policies (the ones affecting the university community, teaching, research and knowledge transfer), taking account of not just the more immediate social environment but also the international contexts where the UdG can make significant contributions.

Given the measures set out in “scenario 5, prolonged closure of the UdG” of the Response Plan for COVID-19, all solidarity activities and face-to-face training courses organised by the Unit of Social Commitment have been suspended.Similarly, all deadlines relating to applications and justifications of cooperation projects remain frozen until the state of emergency is lifted.
