International Volunteering offers you the possibility of living a formative and enriching experience abroad, allowing you to get to know other countries, adapt to other cultures and grow at both professional and personal level.

The goal is to inspire UdG students to work together and build an more inclusive society, supporting vulnerable people and meeting social challenges, to develop solidarity and promote an active citizenship and mutual understanding among young people.

If you have such queries, it's normal! For this reason, the UdG provides tailored support to examine your personal and professional aims and propose the most suitable options and resources.

Our volunteering programmes are free and cover travel, accommodation and living expenses.
Moreover, with international volunteering you can also
get academic recognition credits!

How can I do international volunteer work?

If you want our help with the process, you can make a (virtual or face-to-face) appointment with Oriol, the coordinator for international volunteers.

Would you like to obtain academic recognition credits with the International Volunteering Service? This is how it works!

The following academic recognised credit transfer will be awarded for taking part in international volunteering stays.

  • A stay lasting between 1 week and one month is equivalent to 2 academic recognition credits.
  • A stay of 1 to 3 months is equivalent to 4 academic recognition credits.
  • A stay of more than 3 months is equivalent to 6 academic recognition credits.

*Dual bachelor's degree students should check whether they can obtain academic recognition credits, by contacting the secretary’s office at their Faculty/School.

However, to give effect to the credits, you will need to submit a report detailing the activities carried out within a month after finishing the voluntary work. You will also be required to produce a certificate from the organisation, stating the project and hours carried out.

Remember that participation in an international voluntary worker projects counts as one of the three activities necessary to obtain the “International Competence Recognition” (RECI).
