In this section you will find all the courses for developing your professional skills and starting to drive your working future. 

The training courses  provided by the Social Commitment and Professional Guidance Unit will take you around 25 working hours to complete, and will enable you to obtain 1 academic recognition credit.

Important: you can register for a maximum of 2 courses per semester.

What do I need to do?

  1. Visualise a series of information pills that you can take a look at whenever and whenever you like, within the deadline established.
  2.  Attend a live online  round table discussion.
  3.  Complete certain tasks to check assimilation of the course content.

The ACTIC (Information and Communication Technologies Skills Accreditation) is a certificate issued by the Government of Catalonia proving your level of ICT user skills and knowledge. The ACTIC certificate gives you extra points in the merit stage of competitive entrance processes. To obtain it, you need to pass an online test that automatically gives your score. Get this for free.

  • Dates: 14 June to 1 August 2024.
  • Timetable: Mondays to Fridays, from 9 am to 3 pm.
  • Hours: 190h of training.
  • Credits: 6 ECTS.
  • Modality: hybrid. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, on-site, in the Self-Employment classrooms in the Science and Technology Park of the University of Girona, (C/Emili Grahit, 91- edifici Monturiol).Thursdays and Fridays online, through the virtual classroom, Moodle and Teams. Both on-site and online sessions will be conducted from 9 am to 3 pm.

Take part in a competition for disruptive innovation, Dream BIG-ImaginPlanet Challenge 2024,which has the goal of generating ideas for a more sustainable world.
The competition lasts three hours and will be for teams of three people. You can sign up alone or with your team already formed.

During the event the first step will be to create teams among all of you who sign up individually.
Next, you will work with your team following the Lombard Method, a radical learning process from the Imagine Creativity Center based on the principles of Design Thinking and Design Doing.
The winning team will compete in the grand final of the entrepreneurship competition of ImaginPlanet Challenge 2024, to be held in June (date to be confirmed).

The winning team from the grand final will travel to Silicon Valley in California to turn their idea into reality.

Activity facilitator: Xavier Verdaguer, educated at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and Stanford, serial entrepreneur, founder of Imagine, TMT Factory & Innovalley.

The objective of this course is to understand current trends in leadership in organisations and in society, to discover and develop competence and skills in modern leadershiplearning to use the most innovative resources for leadership with uncertain environments and seeing the need to manage self-leadership to reach leadership.

  • Dates: From 8 April to 10 May 2024 (there is no timetable, except for the round table)
  • Online round table:  mandatory attendance for the round table ONLINE ONLY on 25/4/2024, from 4 pm to 6 pm

Designed to deepen understanding of dialogue facilitation and provide hands-on experience in promoting constructive learning and engagement in the online context.

The course also focuses on managing diverse group dynamics.

Format: 20 hours of live online training in small groups, focusing on practising advanced facilitation techniques. Plus access to extensive weekly resources and activities to deepen learning.

  • 12 – 15 hours of asynchronous engagement

The training is open and free for participants from partner institutions in the CliVEx project between 18 and 30 years old. The University of Girona is a partner in this project.So, if you are studying at the UdG you can enrol on this course for free.
Trainees must have a basic understanding of the English language and a good technology set-up, and they should be committed to completing the training

Get your ACTIC certificate.

To obtain it, you need to pass an online test that automatically gives your score.The objective of this course is to improve your digital competence and for you to be able to get ACTIC-accredited for free.

This course has the aim of teaching you how to speaking in public in an amusing, fun and effective way. It seeks to convey the knowledge you need to understand the importance of communication, how to use your voice to communicate better, the importance of verbal and non-verbal language, how to get over the fear of speaking in public and more. The goal of the course is for you to learn everything you need to make a good presentation in public.

  • Dates:  From 26 February to 5 April 2024 (there is no timetable, except for the round table)
  • Online round table:  mandatory attendance for the round table ONLINE ONLY on 14/3/2024, from 4 pm to 6 pm

Provides participants with strong foundational skills to facilitate online dialogues successfully, including understanding of functions of dialogue and virtual exchange and key principles of facilitation.

Format: 12-16 hours of asynchronous, paced, online and interactive material learning, provided through weekly learning, activities, and personalised feedback.

You will learn key skills to facilitate constructive group engagement (online and off-line) that promotes self-group awareness and the ability to learn from differences.
