The University of Girona stipulates in Article 3 of its Articles of Association that “it is inspired in the basic principles of freedom, justice, solidarity and culture of peace” and that it is committed “to the fight against discrimination on the grounds of gender, class, ethnicity, religion or any other distinctive feature of individuals and groups”.

That is why these grants are aimed, within the framework of their budgetary possibilities, at minimising the negative academic consequences of students who are in a situation of severe financial hardship and unable to enjoy other grants for justified reasons.

Because of all that, this call aims to award grants for enrolments on official bachelor's- or master’s-degree studies at the University of Girona and for travel, within the same regional community, to the University of Girona.
