Energy Emergency

The purpose of the Energy Emergency Plan is to help achieve the goals of the Greening Plan by reducing energy consumption by 40% by 2030. It also aims to limit the University’s spending on energy utilities (gas and electricity) and, finally, to make the university community aware of the need for individual and collective co-responsibility for optimising energy use; for the efficient use of facilities, buildings and campuses; and for improving their management.

AGREEMENTS FROM THE RECTOR’S DECISION

  • There must be no air-conditioning above 19º C in heated spaces or below 27ºC in cooled spaces.

  • Adjusting air-conditioning times, reducing them by 1 hour in the evenings, weekends, public holidays and holidays closed.

  • Banning the use of individual heating and cooling systems.

  • Keeping inside lighting to a minimum for its user needs, respecting the regulations.

  • Research laboratories and/or spaces with specific temperature and lighting requirements are exempt from these measures.

  • In specific health or safety cases, the OSL will propose measures adjusted to the needs identified.
