Archaeology and Prehistory Laboratory

The Archaeology and Prehistory Laboratory (LAP) is formed by the members of the IRH who take care of teaching and research in the field of prehistory, the ancient world and archaeology. The work of the LAP focuses on two broad areas, the first regarding knowledge of the ancient world in the region of Girona, where at present a research project is underway into the Romanisation of the territories of the old Gerunda, with excavations in Sant Julià de Ramis, Sarrià de Ter and Vilablareix, and another about the prehistoric excavations in Serinyà. In parallel, its members also work on archaeological research in Tarragona and Italy, and on a study of the prehistoric mural paintings of the Sahara.

The lines of research that the LAP promotes are linked to the Archaeology, Prehistory and Heritage (GRHCS083) Research Group.
