Objectives

Quality of Life Research Institute (IRQV)

Research

  • Developing basic and applied research related to health, well-being and quality of life, bringing together existing elements as far as possible, and fostering interdisciplinary and interdepartmental projects.
  • Collaborating with other national, state and international institutions and organisations that promote or carry out research and/or activities related to health, well-being and quality of life.
  • Conducting scientific activities both national and international in nature.

Teaching

  • Training research staff in the relevant fields of research and encouraging its members to be up to date on scientific, technical and pedagogic matters.
  • Organising teaching of doctoral degrees and specialisation courses related to well-being, quality of life, health promotion and disease prevention. 
  • Promoting internal and external theoretical and methodological training activities in the relevant areas.
  • Driving and taking part in postgraduate courses, (master's degrees and doctoral degrees) with its areas of competence.

Knowledge transfer

  • Providing technical advice to institutions and organisations in its areas of expertise.
  • Promoting contacts and exchanges with researchers of the same subject matter from other centres and countries.

Services

  • Organising a reference documentary archive in relation to quality of life, well-being, health promotion and disease prevention, with special reference to Catalonia.

Publications

  • Promoting the dissemination and applicability of knowledge derived from IRQV research into well-being, quality of life, health promotion and disease prevention, and particularly referring to Catalonia.

Congresses and conferences

  • Facilitating the dissemination of the results of IRQV research as part of national and international congresses and conferences.
  • Organising congresses, conferences and seminars related to well-being, quality of life, health promotion and disease prevention.
