Programme aimed at bachelor's-degree students.

The programme allows students to complete part of the studies in which they are registered abroad, for a maximum period of one academic year, without having to move their transcript back a year, by recognising the modules completed.

This works bilaterally, through agreements with each institution, accommodating at our university a similar number of students to those who go abroad.

For each flow of mobility, the centre of origin or the receiving centre must belong to a Member State of the European Union, the countries making up the European Economic Area or to an associated country from Central or Eastern Europe or Turkey.

Calendar for the 2026/2027 call

• Enrolled on a bachelor's degree programme at the UdG approved to complete the application and study abroad and have passed more than 60 credits.
• Be a citizen of a European Community member state or of any other state with residency permit for Spain. 
• Have accredited level B2.1 in one of the third languages included i the Parla3 programme.

It is also essential that before any period of study abroad the destination university has signed a bilateral agreement under the programme framework, including the number of exchange students and the field of study

• A period of study abroad can be anywhere from three to 12 months, agreed between the University of Girona and the destination university.
• Academic recognition of credits obtained abroad in accordance with the University of Girona’s current rules.
• The awarding of one and a half credits of academic recognition for every month of the placement carried out, up to the maximum of the 6 credits that the bachelor's degree requires.
• Total exemption of payment for academic fees at the destination university.(Enrolment is formalised and paid to the University of Girona).
• A monthly financial grant of about €110 to pay for part of the additional expenses incurred by a period of study abroad.This grant can only be received once in a student’s university life.The Department of University, Research and Information Society at the Generalitat also provides some additional grants for Erasmus students.There are other forms of complementary funding.
• Information and advice from the University of Girona on the practical conditions of the stay abroad (insurance, etc.)

The Erasmus Programme offers students the chance to study abroad for a set period (normally a semester or nine months) with specific scholarships or grants.

Credits approved abroad are fully recognised and validated in application of the ECTS system (European Credit Transfer System).Agreements signed by the University of Girona allow students in the Faculty of Law to complete part of their education in different countries that generally offer their courses in French, English, German, Portuguese or Italian.

The call for Erasmus grants is announced during January 2025.These placements are allocated to students taking into account the grades in their academic record in cases where there are more applicants than placements at a particular destination.

To formalise the application students need to go to the Mobout platform.They can request up to six options.

1.What do you need to do if you are selected?

• Finalise your Study Agreement with the Office of the Vice-Dean of External Relations of the Faculty, including the subjects you will complete abroad and the equivalent subjects you will have to enrol on with the University of Girona.
• Submit the documents required, duly filled in, to the Academic Secretary’s Office at the Faculty within the deadline established.

2.How are subjects qualified and assessed?

On finishing your study abroad, the subjects equivalent to those that you enrolled on with the University of Girona will be assessed so that the credit transfer can be completed.

3.Which subjects must I have read and which are most recommended for studying abroad?

All type of subjects can be convalidated, provided the corresponding equivalent is offered at the destination university. 

4.Who looks for my accommodation:

All destination universities have staff who are responsible for orientating Erasmus students when it comes to academic queries and helping them find accommodation, student flats or halls of residence, shared or individual rooms.You will find the information you need to rent accommodation in the details sent to your address by the destination university or on their website.

Regarding language courses, it is important to complete them as they will help you to integrate into the university and into your new environment.In some universities, although classes are given in English, you have the option to study the preferred institutional language of the country (e.g. Dutch in the Netherlands).
