Teaching is concentrated in the faculties and schools, and the departments deal with research, which is also conducted by institutes and chairs, at the same time responsible for knowledge promotion.
The Paulo Freire Centre Collection is comprised of documents from the Paulo Freire Centre and theInstituto Paulo Freire of Spain.
It contains around 380 books and journals in addition to unpublished documents (manuscripts, photographs, drawings and posters) collected by Professor Sebastià Parra. Of particular note is the Paulo Freire literacy method, used in several contexts in the province of Girona.
The collection includes documents published by Paulo Freire as well as those about him and his literacy methodology.
