UdG XXI Model

Area 4: Harmonisation of the calendar and timetables

Establishing common time units should enable fluid and organised interaction between different centres and degrees, facilitating joint programming and the compatibility of the courses offered by different teaching centres, as well as the organisation of cross-disciplinary and interdisciplinary courses, shared activities, and access to other degrees without timetable conflicts.

The stand-out actions of this objective are to:

  • Draw up a proposal for a basic credit unit by subjects
  • Draw up a proposal for class times by uniform credit throughout the UdG
  • Draw up a proposal for timetables with common in all UdG schools and faculties – guidelines approved

Timetable rationalisation is necessary to create favourable conditions for the in-depth learning we want to promote, as well as achieve a balance between the education and training offered by the school and faculties, the shared use of classrooms and laboratories, and the programming of joint curricula. This objective is also shared by the SHEFCE project.

The stand-out action of this objective has been to:

  • Draw up a proposal for unified academic calendar – guidelines approved
