The Theatre Hall has been offering theatre, bodily expression, improvisation and diction workshops for the whole university community since 1992.Every year, one or two theatre plays have been premiered that have performed at the UdG and in other spaces such as university theatre festivals and other theatre festivals.Thirty works have been premiered, such as i>Roberto Zucco</i> (Bernard Marie Koltès), i>Comedia sin título</i> (Federico García Lorca), i>Peer Gynt </i> (Henrik Ibsen), and others.
The classroom has been fortunate enough to have the collaboration of Salvador Oliva, translator and scholar of the works of Shakespeare. This has allowed plays such as Romeo i Julieta, Hamlet, Night de Reis, Macbeth and others to be staged.
Besides the workshops and the annual creation of shows, the classroom also takes part in other joint initiatives with the university itself, such as the collaboration in the musical Deixa’t estar de romanços by Arnau Tordera, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the UdG choir, or the project to record audiobooks promoted by Professor Xavier Renedo from the Department of Philology and Communication, in the Faculty of Arts.It has also collaborated with different university theatre classrooms and with the Girona community, for instance the various performances given as part of the Temps de Flors festival and the open day at the Museu d'Art de Girona .
