General servicesThe University of Girona provides the necessary services to support educational activities, research, educational and professional orientation as well as in cultural, sports and leisure fields. These services are addressed to all the members of the university community as well as to city residents in general.
+ Area of Communication and Institutional Relations The university’s Area of Communication and Institutional Relations is responsible for coordinating the university’s institutional projection. Likewise, it is open to the university community to advise, orientate and plan communication, dissemination and public relations strategies for events and activities it holds.
+ Library The library is a learning and research resource centre that makes a series of information resources available to the university community (magazines and e-books, databases, special sources, institutional storage), as well as providing services (document loans and acquisitions, advice and education, research support services, cultural activities) in order to contribute to the whole community attaining their objectives with the utmost level of quality and excellence. With premises at each campus, it offers modern open facilities seven days a week and dedicated spaces for individual and group study.
+ Planning and Evaluation Office The Planning and Assessment Office (GPA) is a body within the office of the president of the University of Girona created in the year 1999 with the main aim of supporting the institutional development of the University of Girona in the areas of the strategic planning, assessment and quality, academic programming and internal and external information systems for decision making.
+ General Manager's Office The General Manager's Office is the service that supports the manager in carrying out their duties, in addition to the competences conferred on it by article 103 of the Statutes of the UdG, among others, and all other regulations: UdG budget Patents, copyright and granting licences Energy saving Public procurement: concessions and university campus, surveillance and cleaning services. + External Relations Office The mission of the External Relations Office is to be the reference point for mobility programmes and for the internationalisation of the University of Girona. Making, processing, monitoring and managing exchange agreements signed with other higher education institutions. Being the contact administrative office for higher education institutions in other countries that would like to collaborate with our university. Collaborating in preparing the University of Girona’s international policy, ensuring and monitoring implementation of the policy. Supporting those responsible for the government and administration of our university when taking part in international institutional meetings. Helping to represent the University of Girona, taking part in forums and international fairs considered relevant, such as the EaIE, APAIE or NAFSA, thus improving external awareness of the university. Coordinating the reception services offered by the University of Girona, with special emphasis on exchange students, for whom it is directly responsible.
+ Occupational Health Office The Occupational Health Office is a service for all staff of the University of Girona that aims to perform the necessary prevention activities to guarantee that the health and safety of staff is suitably safeguarded, advising and meeting with university management, staff and representatives, as well as specialised representative bodies.
+ Office of Research and Technology Transfer The Office of Research and Technology Transfer is a Central Department of the University of Girona whose competences are related to research: management of research grants from the autonomous regions, Spain and Europe; management of technology and knowledge transfer; and management of contracts and agreements with companies to fund specific research projects.
+ Academic and Student Administration Service The Academic and Student Administration Service (SGAiE) coordinates the formalities associated with academic records, managing and providing information and advice to students about accessing the university and the course catalogue, scholarships and grants, payments and returning receipts and issuing degree and academic certificates, among other services.It is also tasked with pre-enrolment for university master's degrees and incorporates the services provided by the School of Doctoral Studies.
+ Publishing Service The Publishing Service works for the university community in the promotion, technical production and dissemination of scientific, teaching, university extension and institutional image publications. It publishes support materials for teaching and research (in hardcopy and digital formats) and articles in collections and journals launched by the departments, teaching institutions and research units. The Publishing Service is part of sectoral publishing networks and has well-established commercial distribution channels. The service is also responsible for the institution’s website project.
+ Human Resources Service The Human Resources Service is responsible for managing all procedures relating to persons who carry out their professional activity at the university, either in the academic field or in administration and services. Correct selection and access processes, contractual linking and management of the work life of staff, as well as of remuneration issues and other topics relating thereto, are at the core of managing the Human Resources Service. Other topics more linked to development and organisation (training, skills development, appraisals) work relations and care and advice on the subject of staff to all workers are also fundamental.
+ Geographical Information Systems and Remote Sensing Service The Geographical Information Systems and Remote Sensing Service (SIGTE) at the University of Girona supports research, specialised in handling geolocation information and the use and application of geographical information technologies. We offer technical support, advice, training and technology solutions in the field of geographical information.
+ Finance, Assets and Procurement Service The service in charge of administrative management of: Financial and economic activity Centralised recruitment Insurance and asset management Travel and centralised purchasing Preparation of financial and accounting reports for the University of Girona Preparation and settlement of the budget and annual accounts Management of taxes Photocopying and cafés Payments, charges and treasury
+ Sports Service The Sports Department is responsible for organising and promoting the practising of healthy physical activity at the university. The main objective is to help students to get a well-rounded education and improve the quality of life of the university community. To achieve this goal, it offers programmes in various areas: competition, initiation in a huge variety of sport activities, leisure activities and those involving the natural environment. It also manages the university’s sport facilities at the Montilivi campus: 7-a-side football, tennis, padel, table tennis, volleyball and basketball (all outdoors), and it promotes agreements with other organisations to make other sports available to the university community, such as: swimming, gym, squash and athletics, among others.
+ Computer Service The Computer Service is the unit in charge of applying ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) so that the university can achieve its goals and functions, managing the basic ICT infrastructure (use of computer and office systems, voice and data), developing applications, digitising information systems and displaying user computer systems for teaching, research and management, all areas that we provide support for.
+ Research Technical Services The functions of this service are to give technical and instrumental support to the institution’s research groups, to other public and private institutions and to society in general, meeting the demands of the social and economic environment in research, development and/or innovation. Giving technical, instrumental and general support in various specific areas, such as: quality assurance, characterisation of production faults, product marketing, investment research, categorisation of waste, conservation of heritage, etc.
+ Social Commitment Unit The Social Commitment Unit is a service aimed at the entire university community that integrates seven fundamental areas in which to develop good citizenship. It protects and promotes values such as health, sustainability and gender equality. In turn, it conducts volunteering and cooperation activities for development. As part of this commitment to society, it supports people with disabilities and fosters access to an inclusive, quality education for all, offering training programmes for the over-50s.
+ Documental Management, Archive and Registry Unit The Document Management, Archive and Registry Unit is responsible for drafting, applying and maintaining document management systems, corporate records and archives to monitor, store and access document information of administrative interest for the university itself, other public administrations and citizens and also for studies, research and culture.
