Agenda d'activitats

The Chair’s main objective is to drive research, training and knowledge transfer in the field of healthy, sustainable and accessible food by integrating the social, environmental and economic dimensions. It aims to address current challenges related to food sustainability, animal welfare, waste reduction, the efficient use of resources such as water and the fight against antimicrobial resistance, while meeting the requirements of the production sector and promoting models that respect human health and the planet's limits.

Furthermore, the Chair aims to become a meeting place for science, society and the productive sector, generating synergies with public institutions, businesses, co-operatives and social organisations to transform the food system into a fairer, more balanced and sustainable model. Through outreach, innovation and territorial collaboration activities, it will contribute to strengthening Girona's productive fabric, creating local circuits and positioning the University of Girona as a reference in sustainable food, in line with the 2030 Agenda and the Sum of Intelligences Strategic Plan.
