Diagnosis:
The lack of information on the website about the contents and people responsible for the lines of research on offer makes it difficult to guide doctoral candidates in the pre-enrolment process, especially for students who come from outside the University of Girona.

Description:
Extending the number of research lines linked to the programme, adding a line in Ancient History and another in Cultural Communication
Diagnosis:
Bearing in mind the registered demand up to the present and the saturation of some lines, and with the aim of visualising better the research carried out by groups linked to the doctoral programme, we suggest adding to two research lines that did not appear in the verification report: one in Ancient History and another in Cultural Communication
Appraisal:
After the visit from the CAE, and given that nothing to the contrary has been observed, the research line in Cultural Communication was added in preparation for enrolment for the academic year 2019-2020 and the line in Ancient History is considered consolidated. The objective was achieved in the planned time frame, even though the formal closure of the objective has been delayed, coinciding with the training session on the use of the platform ServiceNow.

Description:
There is no mechanism that guarantees all thesis projects with ethical implications or risks will receive the approval of the UdG's Research Ethics and Bio-Safety Committee. Submitting projects to the Committee depends solely on the criterion of the doctoral student or thesis supervisors.
Appraisal:
In the review of the follow-up procedure and the regulations stronger emphasis is given to the obligation of having the approval of the Ethics Committee for the theses that require this owing to the subject and type of experiments and/or data addressed.

Description:
The aim of the IAI 1810 improvement approved by AQU Catalonia under the accreditation process has been rejected by AQU Catalonia in its report requiring corrections in the amended report. The IAI 1810 improvement has been removed from the amended report that added "a new criterion for admission consisting of a Report from a researcher from the doctoral programme prepared to take on the supervision or joint supervision of the thesis on the suitability of the applicant's education and research project.”
Diagnosis:
The aim of the IAI 1810 improvement approved by AQU Catalonia under the accreditation process has been rejected by AQU Catalonia in its report requiring corrections in the amended report. The amended improvement report, “a new criterion for admission consisting of a Report from a researcher from the doctoral programme prepared to take on the supervision or joint supervision of the thesis on the suitability of the applicant's education and research project”, has been removed. The AQU gave a favourable assessment of the report amended on the 27 May 2022. It is yet to be amended on the website of the programme it was listed on since AQU Catalonia had issued the favourable accreditation. The admissions process is expected to close to avoid confusion.
Appraisal:
In the Academic Committee we recently discussed the selection system. We do not have a numerus clausus system but really it depends on each candidate achieving a commitment to direction for their thesis and this depends completely on the availability and will of the directors for the Programme. As a Committee we understand that the Programme would need to be evaluated, and from the management of the School of Doctoral Studies if we want to set annual enrolment goals, if its possible and convenient, if these goals are not reached, to incentivise directors in some way to take on the task of directing the thesis. We see a problem: we do not have enough masters in order to be able to make a selection to attract our own students to masters, and consequently most doctoral degree students arrive from other universities, meaning it is not straightforward for teaching staff to be able to appraise case by case the value, commitment, conditions or other necessary aspects to be able to take a well-informed decision regarding directing theses.

The University of Girona, across Area of Communication and Institutional Relations (ACRI), attends every year a good number of international fairs in order to spread its formative offer in bachelor's degrees and masters. In these moments, information is not had in the form of diptychs or triptychs that can give themselves up to the international students who can be interested in the doctoral programmes that the University of Girona offers. Treats itself like better the diffusion of the doctoral programmes with the objective of picking up doctoral talent at international level. On the other hand, the internationalisation in more extensive sense also includes aspects as the international mentions and the agreements of joint custody, which it are qualitative aspects of the programmes every time taken more into account that, to the opinion of several CAE in the process of accreditation, it is necessary to foster.
