Procedures specific to the Faculty

The condition that students must meet if they have started their studies at another university or on another course, is to have a minimum of 30 credits recognised between the course they come from and the course they want to study. If they do not meet this requirement they must access the degree they want to study through university pre-enrolment.

The regulations governing access to bachelor's degrees for students who do meet the requirement described in the previous paragraph are the Access regulations to bachelor's degree studies with a minimum of 30 recognised credits , approved by the Governing Council in session no.5/10, of 3 June 2010 (eBOU-6), and modified by the Governing Council in sessions no.6/10, of 15 July 2010 (eBOU-24); no.10/11, of 22 December 2011 (eBOU-291), no.4/2014, of 29 May 2014 (eBOU-647) and no.3/2017, of 4 April 2017 (e-BOU985).

The Faculty of Medicine offers three places for students coming from Spanish studies and a place for students of foreign studies for the academic year 2026/2027.

The period for submitting applications is from 23 February to 1 March 2026.

Anyone interested in this type of access who meets the requirements will be able to formalise their application and provide the documents set out under Article 4 of the above-mentioned regulations.*

Should the number of applications meeting the minimum requirement of 30 credits be the same or lower than the number of places specifically offered on the medicine degree, all applicants will be assigned a place.

Should the opposite occur, once the academic records of the applicants have been scaled, the number of places assigned will be equal to that of the places offered, and applicants who have not been assigned a place will be put on a waiting list in the order established during the scaling process in case one of those assigned a place decides not to enrol.

The allocation of places will be made public on the last working day of May on the UdG's e-office,  and all those concerned will be notified.

*Important! When applying, there is no need to submit the "payment receipt for the public price” which is requested as part of the documentation. This needs to be supplied once the academic office of the secretary has revised and validated your application and sent you an email with the payment details.

Under Article 8 of the Regulations governing the processes for assessing and grading students, students may exceptionally resort to a one-off assessment and thereby waive their continuous assessment.

Students who wish to resort to a one-off assessment must apply for it within the set deadlines and under the procedures and criteria established by the centre’s Governing Commission.

The Regulations on applications for one-off assessment with the Faculty of Medicine, approved by the Government Commission in session 3/2020 of 15 September 2020, establishes the scenarios where a request can be made for a one-off assessment, a circumstance which needs to be accredited with documentation.

Once your request has been assessed, it will be granted or denied as per the regulations.

According to article 3 of the Regulations for the recognition and transfer of credits in undergraduate studies and article 3 of the Academic Regulations for university master's degrees, students who have accessed undergraduate or master's studies with previous official university studies may request the recognition of those credits that have been passed at origin, as long as the content of the programme of the subjects passed is the same or similar to that of the programme of the subjects of the study of medicine at the University of Girona.
