These postgraduate scholarships in the area of engineering, experimental sciences, and bio-engineering provide the opportunity to spend an academic year studying in the USA. The scholarship covers all expenses (enrolment, medical insurance and monthly maintenance of approximately $1,850). There are three different programmes:

• Balsells Scholarships (BBI): for master's degree and doctoral studies in engineering at the Henry Samueli School of Engineering (HSSoE) and the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences (DBSICS) at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). 
• Balsells Scholarships (BBC) a scholarship: for master's degree and doctoral studies in engineering at the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences (CEAS) at the University of Colorado, Boulder (UCB) and the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs (UCCS). 
• Balsells Scholarships (BBD) to read master's degree studies in the field of agri-food at the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at the University of California, Davis (UC Davis).
