Master in Intelligent Robotic Systems (MIRS)

MIRS impressions

Testimonials

  • Alex Gasser

    Class of 2024-2026. Belgium

After graduating in Computer Science, I was looking for a master’s degree that would allow me to specialise in robotics. The MIRS in Girona proved to be the perfect option, both academically and personally. The programme offers a solid technical grounding and the city is incredible. Being close to both the mountains and the beach makes it ideal for anyone who enjoys nature and outdoor activities. If you are passionate about robotics and are looking for somewhere with a great learning environment and a good quality of life, Girona is the ideal place.

  • Adel Saidani

    Class of 2024-2026. Algeria

The MIRS programme was a great boost for my academic career. In addition to the weekly classes, I took advantage of the opportunity to join the CIRS research laboratory, where I contributed to the development of the new AUV, the Mini Girona. This experience significantly deepened my knowledge of hardware systems and allowed me to apply the algorithms I had learnt in class –on location, planning, vision and intervention– in a real environment.

  • Miguel Malagon

    Class of 2022-2024. Catalonia

I chose the MIRS because I wanted to continue my studies in an area that was in line with my interests in robotics after completing my bachelor's degree in computer engineering. The programme not only allowed my to further my knowledge, but also significantly improved my English skills through interaction with people from all around the world, which has been hugely valuable in the academic area as well as in the professional sense.

  • Alan Ustariz

    Class of 2023-2025. Bolivia

Coming from mechanical engineering and aeronautical maintenance, I was looking for a programme that connected artificial intelligence with robotics. I chose the MIRS because it is one of the few masters that I found focused in this crucial integration. I am sure it will help me in my professional development to work in Europe and I really value the international and multidisciplinary environment of the master very much. I feel and I am sure that this is the beginning of a new chapter in my life.

Daily life on the MIRS

Weekly Football Matches

To disconnect from the stress of studying, MIRS students have adopted football as a way of relaxing and socialising. What started as an informal activity has become a weekly tradition of friendly matches, combining entertainment, sport and community spirit.

RAMI: Construction of the MINI GIRONA AUV

Beyond their classes at the UdG, some of the MIRS students have taken on the challenge of the RAMI competition. The main goal is to construct the MINI GIRONA AUV, as well as to develop its capacity for autonomous navigation—a practical project that combines robotics, teamwork and innovation.

Industrial Visit to TAVIL

Thanks to our associated partner TAVIL, every year the MIRS students have the opportunity to visit one of the leading factories in the robotic industry. This first-hand experience allows students to discover industrial automation and the most advanced robotic systems closely.
