Teaching is concentrated in the faculties and schools, and the departments deal with research, which is also conducted by institutes and chairs, at the same time responsible for knowledge promotion.
The implementation of teaching innovation is one of the main challenges in university education.
In this sense, the University of Girona, and in particular the Josep Pallach Institute of Education Sciences, go back a long way in the promotion of the innovation educational.This trajectory has included key elements such as the Teaching Innovation Networks (XID) and Teaching Innovation Groups (GID), created and promoted from the ICE, which have allowed stable practice communities at the UdG.
The goals of the XID and the GID include developing, analysing, and evaluating teaching innovation, carrying out research to bring scientific evidence, transferring the results from research in teaching innovation and fostering a dynamic of ongoing shared reflection on the practice of teaching.
