The School of Doctoral Studies is committed to the continued improvement of the quality of its doctoral degrees and the administrative procedures it carries out. An internal quality management system (SGIQ) has been implemented to improve the quality of the doctoral degrees. This improvement is manifested in the satisfaction of everybody taking part in the doctoral degrees (research trainee, teaching staff and administrative and service staff) and through indicators such as the pass rate, the number of theses produced, the number of theses awarded cum laude, the number of important scientific contributions derived from the doctoral theses presented, and so on. These indicators are included in the set of indicators defined as required in the Follow-Up and Accreditation processes of degrees.
The Quality Commission of the School of Doctoral Studies (CQED) is the main body responsible for the quality processes related to the official doctoral degrees taught at the School, setting out its organisation and functioning in accordance with AQU Catalonia guidelines. The CQED safeguards quality in the approach and deployment of verification, follow-up, modification and accreditation processes for the doctoral studies taught at the centre, as well as SGIQ processes at the level of the teaching centre.
The Quality Commission of the School of Doctoral Studies is comprised of:
The CQED meets in an ordinary session at least once every academic year with the aim of carrying out the annual follow-up of the doctoral degrees imparted in the centre.
