Physical Geography Laboratory

The Physical Geography Laboratory is a space for the teaching and practical work developed within the framework of different subjects of the Bachelor's degree in Geography where content related to knowledge of the biophysical environment is taught. These subjects are: Foundations of Geography, Geography of mountain spaces, Geography of coastal spaces, Biogeography and Town and Country Planning Techniques and Environmental Management.

In the Physical Geography Laboratory the students do practicals on recognising rocks and identifying plant species, together with the practical works that requires consulting samples and documentation related to elements of the biophysical environment.

The Laboratory also hasspecialised equipment for analysing soil and observing submicroscopic photographs of mineral and plant samples. There is also a small library of books on environmental subjects, in addition to some collections of geographical magazines including Treballs de la Societat Catalana de Geografia, Boletín de la Asociación de Geógrafos Españoles, Documents d’Anàlisi Geogràfica and Revista Geográfica de América Central.
