Faculty of Tourism regulations for the recognition of work and professional experience (exemption of curricular academic placements with companies)

Preamble
The Regulations for external academic placements for bachelor's and master’s degrees, approved by the Governing Council in session no.8/12, of 20 December 2012 (eBOU-429), and modified by the Authorised Committee of Teaching and Students in the session of 5 March 2015, and by agreement of the Governing Council in ordinary session no.3/2019, of 2 May of 2019 (eBOU-1544), regulates the external academic placements of university students, and also contemplates voluntary placements during the training period.
In particular, these regulations regulate the recognition of work and professional experience proved whenever it is related with the inherent competences towards the degree (art. 10).
This recognition can mean exemption from the placement, but not enrolment for the subject, instruction and assessment.Students will have to complete the required evaluation activities, in general, in the placement report.
Purpose
These regulations establish the characteristics of the professional experience, the minimum duration to consider, and mechanisms for accreditation on the part of the students of the Faculty of Tourism.
1.Recognition of work and professional experience
a. Students who consider that through their work or professional activity they have attained the skills established for the external placement subject in the corresponding curriculum, must request exemption from the placement.
b. Students must accredit professional work experience of at least one year full-time or the equivalent in the case of part-time work.
c. Students will be able to request this from the procedures tab in La Meva UdG, selecting the sub-procedure Placements.The application form from Annex I will need to be attached, duly filled in and signed.The application itself details the documentation to submit.
d. The application deadline for each academic year will be from 17 to 31 October and from 15 to 28 February.
The person responsible for external placements must determine if the accredited experience is sufficient to be exempt from the external stay.Students will receive an email through "La Meva UdG" and they must accept the notification to find out whether the decision is favourable or not.The decision can also be found in the completed procedures tab from your online dossier.In the event of favourable decision, the student will have to complete the assessments for the subject.In the case of an unfavourable decision, the curricular academic placement subject will need to be completed.
2.Single final provision.Entry into force
This regulation shall come into force in the 2024-2025 academic year.
