The purpose of the Interest group register  is to register and monitor individuals and organisations that operate independently and participate in the development and implementation of public policies while advocating for the interests of third parties or organisations.In order to guarantee the transparency of relations between interest groups and public servants, the Government of Catalonia transformed its own Interest group register into the Register of interest groups in Catalonia. This register applies to all public institutions and bodies required by the Transparency Law to maintain such a registry.Consequently, the University of Girona has chosen to fulfil its legal obligations in this area by using the Register of interest groups in Catalonia.
