Access, admission and enrolment

Access requirements

To access this master's degree, students must have obtained an official Spanish university degree or a degree issued by a higher education institution of the EHEA that teaches the degree in the issuing country to access master's degrees, as per Article 16 of Royal Decree 1393/2007.

Candidate selection:

Students admitted to the master’s programme must hold a university degree, preferably in Biology, Environmental Sciences, Political Science, Physics, Geography, Geology, Sociology, or other related areas.If demand exceeds the number of places offered (20), priority will be given to students with the best academic and professional record.A personal interview with the student is planned to assess their affinity with the master’s degree and their willingness to learn.Therefore, the selection criteria will consist of the following structure:

  • Academic record of the accredited official degree, weighted based on the average mark at the university of origin (60%)
  • Complementary academic and/or professional training (20%)
  • Work experience and/or research experience in the subject areas of the master’s degree (10%)
  • Justified application with personal references, if necessary (5%)
  • Interview with the coordinator of the master's degree (5%)

Admission and enrolment

The process for enrolment on the master's degree will depend on whether it concerns newly admitted students or students from previous years.

Newly admitted students must first complete pre-enrolment and have a tutorial with the master's programme coordinator before they can enrol. Once pre-enrolment has been completed, the Board of Admission for the Master's Degree will appraise students’ CVs to ensure candidates’ suitability as regards the dedication required to continue their education.

Students who are about to finish the bachelor's degree but have pending the bachelor's thesis (TFG) and/or up to a maximum of 9 ECTS to obtain the degree can access the master's degree through the conditional admission method.The University Master's Degrees Office will indicate how to proceed with the pre-enrolment process.

Once pre-enrolment is accepted and the session with the master’s supervisor completed, or in the case of students from previous academic years, the online enrolment procedure can be completed.In cases where this option is not available due to deadlines, the Academic Secretary's office at the Faculty of Science will indicate the procedure to follow.
