Social mentoring

Line of research

The research in this field is focused on analysing the benefits of mentoring and how its effectiveness can be improved in the different existing programmes in Catalonia. The goal of the Nightingale Project (Projecte Rossinyol) and many other mentoring projects developed in Catalonia is to improve the educational expectations of youth with immigrant backgrounds, in addition to increasing their sense of identification with the territory and improving their language skills and self-esteem.

Nightingale Project

The aim of the Nightingale Project is to team up primary school children and secondary school youth with immigrant backgrounds with university students to improve their adaptation and inclusion process into Catalan society. The goal of the Nightingale Project is to improve the educational expectations of youth with immigrant backgrounds, as well as their sense of identification with the territory and their language skills and self-esteem.

APPmentoring

APPlying mentoring It is a RecerCaixa project whose goal is to facilitate the social inclusion of immigrants and refugees through social mentoring.
