Our faculty is a point of reference in the economic environment of the counties of Girona with a long trajectory.Economic and Business Studies in Girona date back to 1950 with the establishment of the Commercial Studies Centre.In 1974, with the name School of Commercial and Business Studies, it was linked to the University School of Business Studies of Sabadell.The incorporation into the General Study of Girona, attached to the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, happened in 1984 under the name University School of Business Studies.With the creation of the University of Girona in 1992, diploma courses were integrated into the Faculty of Legal and Economic Sciences.Within the University of Girona, the Faculty of Business and Economic Sciences was officially created in the year 2000.
The faculty offers an extensive range of bachelor's degrees, dual bachelor's degrees, masters and doctoral programmes, all designed to respond to the contemporary challenges in the economic, entrepreneurial and social sphere.
It would want to distinguish two aspects from our Faculty: the international vocation and the high level of work insertion of its students.The international vocation reflects in an extensive offer of programmes of exchange, and also with international seminars, scientific publications and research projects, all lined up with the standards, that characterise the academic institutions of major prestige.Thanks to this commitment with the internationalisation, this year, in 2024, we have been recognised with the Distinction Jaume Vicens Vives conceded by the Government of Catalonia with the project Euroweek.
It be also necessary to highlight the work insertion of our Faculty.All our studies include the possibility to carry out curricular practicals, offering a first professional experience to the estudiantat during its academic education.Fruit of the quality of our studies and of a narrow collaboration with the entrepreneurial fabric of the territory, the work insertion of our Faculty has been recognised by the Agency for the Quality of the University System of Catalonia (AQU), which has appraised the work insertion of our holders of a bachelor's degree with excellence.
Our objective is to form highly qualified and responsible professionals socially in an environment of learning that promotes the critical thought, the collaboration, the creativity and the entrepreneurship.Conscious of this fact and with the objective of forming the professionals of the future, we put at your disposal a set of complementary tools to promote your knowledge and skills.Spaces as the BusinessLab, where the projects of entrepreneurship are born, the service of languages or that of physical activity.And all activities that the Faculty organises such like lectures, professional conference, entrepreneurial simulators and workshops of stock exchange, solidary experiences, International Day...We invite you to share and to enjoy all these initiatives.
