FINAL MASTER’S PROJECT

This involves a student’s completion and defence of a project, study, report or piece of work where the knowledge, capabilities, competencies and skills required for the course in question are applied, integrated and developed.

The TFM is aimed at evaluating the skills associated with the degree and concludes with the public defence, and evaluation and grading of the work.For each study the specific and cross-disciplinary competences to be evaluated will be set in accordance with the report drafted on embarking upon the study.

The TFM is carried out on an individual basis.The dedication of the student has to equate to a total of 300 hours of work (25 hours credit x 12 credits).

The TFM may be completed in another university within the framework of a mobility programme by establishing a compulsory collaboration agreement.In this case, the TFM will be contemplated in line with the study agreement and treated the same as the rest of the subjects in curriculum and, as such, with the possibility of being validated.

Under no circumstances, given its nature as a subject summary, may a Bachelor's Thesis or Master's Thesis be the object of recognition nor compensation.

The TFM subject can be taken by all students who enrol for all the subjects on the Master's degree within the period established for the academic calendar of the University of Girona.

TFMs are mainly managed through an app created for this purpose.

The whole process from the choice of tutor, presentation of the Bachelor’s /Master’s thesis TFG to evaluation by tutor and board of examiners.

• APPLICATION

FINAL MASTER’S PROJECT

The TFM will have be between 8,000 and 15,000 words without counting tables, graphs or images.Only materials compiled by the students themselves can be included as appendices.

On the date indicated in the calendar, the student will have to deposit the TFM archive in digital format on the faculty’s specific platform for TFMs.They must also hand in a paper copy with the approval of the tutor, contained in the follow-up documents for the TFM.

Theses that gain a minimum qualification of "good" from the assessment panel will be made available to the public, in electronic format, in the UdG Library, except in cases in which the author or the tutor expressly declare the confidential nature thereof or where there is data that cannot be divulged due to its confidential nature or public dissemination of the work is not expressly authorised.In any use that may be made of this work, the authorship, the nature of the work and its connection with the University of Girona must always be made clear.

7th BACHELOR'S THESIS in ECONOMICS PRIZE (Spanish Association of Economics)

 

The main objective of the call for this prize is to stimulate research in economics and business among the students of the Faculties of Business and Economic Sciences, besides disseminating good projects and recognising those which are excellent.
