Majors and recognised credit transfers

Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance

The Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finances can be obtained without taking any major or taking one of the two majors on offer:

Speciality in Accounting and Auditing

To do this speciality, you must take the following options:

  • Audits
  • International auditing regulations.
  • International financial information rules
  • Accounting organisation and advanced auditing tools
  • Appraising companies and feasibility plans

At the ICAC (Instituto de contabilidad y auditoria de cuentas). Graduates in "Accounting and Finances, Specialising in Accounting and Auditing" from the University of Girona are generally partially exempt from taking auditor theory education courses and the first stage of the admission exam to the Official Register of Account Auditors, provided that their qualification was obtained by attending the courses highlighted in the equivalences table.

Speciality in Banking and Finances

To do this speciality, you must take the following options:

  • Financial-product analysis
  • Financial communication
  • Corporative finances
  • Derivatives
  • Financial transaction taxation

At the request of the faculty, CNMV (the Ministry of the Economy’s Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores )has included the “Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance Specialising in Banking and Finance” on the list of recognised degrees for practising as qualified professionals providing advice on investments. Until now, the Ministry of the Economy has only recognised master's degree studies. Of all the Bachelor's Degree qualifications from Catalan Business and Economics Faculties, this is the first to be recognised by the Ministry and the second to be recognised by the central government.
