Welcome to the Faculty of Science at the University of Girona, the centre tasked with organising teaching and managing the administrative processes that give rise to bachelor's degrees in Biology, Biotechnology, Environmental Sciences and Chemistry, in addition to master’s degrees in related areas of knowledge. Cutting-edge research is also carried out within the departments and research institutes that it houses.
The Faculty of Science’ most important mission is to see to the development and innovation of university studies in the field of scientific knowledge, so that they meed the needs of society, especially in Girona's counties.
Students are offered a comprehensive education at the Faculty of Science, not just in content but in skills too, a process that is strengthened under an ambitious Tutorial Action Plan, the recipient of the 2020 Jaume Vicens Vives Distinction for University Teaching Quality awarded by the Catalan government.
The centre's webpage provides information on the organisation and quality of the studies offered and, above all, on every important aspect affecting the centre.
The Faculty of Science is a very dynamic and open centre where academic activities of every type are organised, in addition to regulated studies, such as conferences, lectures, exhibitions, etc. Another important feature of the centre is its participation and capacity to listen to everybody; about everything through the government bodies such as the Faculty Board or the academic councils that promote the involvement of all the collectives making it up (PAS, PDI and students) and which allow progress towards continual improvement .
Our Faculty is working to be a benchmark in science education and to provide an enriching and inspiring path for students spending some of their essential years of education there. We expect them to remember those years with a smile, during the brilliant future surely in store for them.
