The last decade has witnessed the great rise of Artificial Intelligence (IA), a technology that affects our daily lives, whether we realise it or not. As a matter of fact, it can be said that for many people IA has become indispensable. However, public knowledge of the specificities of AI and what it means both for our everyday lives and also for us as a society remains limited. With major social and economic matters in play, such as the future of work and wealth distribution, it is important that there is an ongoing dialogue and public debate on its disruptive potential and opportunities.
In order to provide some answers and, of course, to raise more questions on the future of AI in our everyday lives, the Observatory of Ethics in Artificial Intelligence (OEIAC) is launching a new series of knowledge transfer seminars featuring guest speakers from all over who work with and promote the development of a form of AI that is compatible with our social and cultural norms and that is centred on people.
The seminars are aimed at anyone with an interest in the risks and opportunities that the increasingly widespread implementation of AI represents.
The OEIAC Seminar Programme starts on Monday 10 May and runs until November. In these seminars, experts will address different ethical, social and legal considerations related to AI from various areas such as data bias, ethics in the design of AI systems, data protection and privacy and participative modelling, among other aspects.
If you want to receive more information about the seminars and for the link to the talks, you can register using the registration form .
All seminars will be free and broadcast live via the University of Girona YouTube channel. For more information, simply email suport.oeiac@udg.edu .
