To offer students a solid theoretical, conceptual and methodological framework for tackling the challenges that appear at the intersection between communication and politics, in local contexts as well as within the framework of economic, ecological, social and cultural globalisation. To train students in critical analysis of political communication campaigns carried out by institutional and non-institutional actors, providing them with tools for identifying the objectives, strategies and media used in these campaigns. To teach students to recognise and apply aesthetic proposals and discursive genres employed in the transmission of political messages, fostering a reflexive and critical view that incorporates a gender and non-discriminatory perspective. To equip students with the necessary knowledge for understanding the role of social media in disseminating information and in constructing political discourse, as well as their influence on shaping public opinion, mobilising citizens, setting the public agenda and determining communication policies. To train students in how to develop non-discriminatory political communication campaigns to promote public policies, tackle social demands and support institutional proposals in diverse media, networks and platforms. To provide students with advanced techniques for evaluating the veracity of information by identifying sources, analysing class, gender and race bias, and countering hate speech or the spreading of rumours. To train students in applied research and communication, with training in qualitative and quantitative methodologies to develop proposals, prepare content and produce rigorous work and reports in the field of communication and politics.
