1.Access requirements and student admission procedures
3.1 a) Access regulations and general procedures
In establishing the access conditions and admission criteria for the master, Article 18 of RD 822/2021, of 28 September, on organisation of the university teaching and of the procedure of its quality has been taken into account.The link to the general access regulations of the University of Girona for university master's degrees is as follows:

3.1 b) Criteria and admission procedures for the degree
The previous requirements for the admission to the degree envisage applicants having a bachelor’s or other degree, preferably in disciplines relating to communication, public, humanistic, artistic and social relations.Mainly related to the following degrees (other degrees or bachelor's degrees are not excluded if interest is demonstrated):
- Degree or Bachelor's degree in Cultural Communication
- Degree or Bachelor’s degree in Journalism
- Degree or Bachelor's degree in Political and Administration Sciences
- Degree or Bachelor's degree in Advertising and Public Relations
- Degree or Bachelor’s degree in Sociology
- Degree or Bachelor's degree in Global Studies
- Degree or Bachelor’s degree in History
- Degree or Bachelor's degree in History of Art
- Degree or Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy
- Degree or Bachelor’s degree in Philology
- Degree or Bachelor’s degree in Geography
- Degree or Bachelor’s degree in Humanities
As well as having pre-enrolled.In exceptional circumstances and whenever the offer of places exceeds demand, the Academic Council of the Master, the competent academic management body of the master , comprising its coordinator, a representative of the teaching staff, a representative of the students and the head of the Faculty’s Academic Secretary’s Office or the person they delegate, will be able to consider, conditionally, the admission of students who do not meet the access requirements but who it is envisaged will do so when they start the course.
Once pre-enrolment has been completed, the Council will appraise applications, prioritising them in line with the following criteria:
- Academic record of the accredited official training, weighted according to the average mark at the university of origin (60%).
- Work experience in the fields of communication and politics, providing a declaration by the company indicating the time and tasks performed.And/or research experience at recognised research centres and publications relating to the subject areas of the master's degree (20%).
- Justified application with letters of recommendation, as appropriate (20%).
Additional training
Offering additional training will be considered for those people who have a degree in a programme whose curriculum did not include at least 3 ECTS credits in subjects relating to politics and 3 ECTS credits relating to communication to do the master's degree.In such cases, students will have to study the following subjects: “Bases of political communication” for 3 credits, and “Methodology of the social sciences” for 3 credits.These subjects will be programmed in September, just before the start of the master's degree classes.
No special condition of admission is required apart from those described.
