Learning objectives

The overall objective of the Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Talent Management and Employment Advice is to prepare students to become competent professionals in the field of employment and career counselling, and in leading, managing and developing people and teams in organisations. This preparation is guided by an academic-professional approach and emphasises practice-based learning. It focuses on the supervised acquisition of professional competencies in both academic and professional domains.

Competences

Graduates will be able to achieve the following learning outcomes (LO), expressed in the form of knowledge, skills and competencies:

Knowledge:

LO1. Convey the mission, vision, values, goals and strategic objectives of an organisation, recognising the stages of change processes occurring there.

LO2. Describe in detail an effective recruitment, selection, succession, retention and exit programme for an organisation.

LO3. Implement programmes and activities for the training and development of talent in organisations, taking into account indicators of performance, talent, achievement and employee needs.

LO4. Identify the components of employee reward programmes, taking into account the most effective mechanisms for implementation and assessment.

LO5. Identify the Spanish and European regulations and the judicial and extra-judicial procedures for regulating labour relations in organisations.

LO6. Describe the policies and programmes that ensure a safe working environment, identifying the keys to their implementation and assessment for the organisation.

LO7. Describe the advances in training management, highlighting the benefits and risks that technology can bring to the management of employment ***Competencies to be acquired by students (Catalan):*** relations and human resources.

Skills:

LO8. Analyse the training and motivation needs of different groups in order to implement effective interventions.

LO9. Evaluate interventions designed and implemented for the training and development of professional skills.

LO10. Carry out staff selection procedures taking into account specific needs.

LO11. Apply legal and contractual instruments of an employment nature to employment relations, based on knowledge of the regulatory framework in the field of employment relations.

LO12. Evaluate current models for managing social security benefits to cover the socio-professional risks of entrepreneurs and employees.

LO13. Communicate properly in the workplace through written documents, using appropriate administrative and legal terminology and techniques.

LO14. Evaluate management policies for individuals and the resulting plans in the context of the organisation’s strategy.

LO15. Apply potential and competency assessment techniques to implement and optimise personal development, teamwork and succession policies.

LO16. Define personal and organisational factors that influence organisational climate and individual motivation.

LO17. Appraise progress through the use of management audit methods and systematic process improvement in human resources.

Competencies:

LO18. Demonstrate professional interpersonal and relational skills for work and interdisciplinary team management in an organisation.

LO19. Implement programmes to promote healthy working conditions and habits in organisational contexts.

LO20. Plan interventions to eliminate biases, stereotypes and gender roles identified in professional practice.

LO21. Develop specific measures to ensure a work environment free from violence (gender discrimination, bullying, etc.).

LO22. Self-assess learning skills in the contexts in which they are developed.

LO23. Solve organisational problems by combining the acquired knowledge and skills.

LO24. Reflect on social and ethical responsibilities related to the profession as a strategy for development and continuous professional improvement.

LO25. Communicate conclusions clearly and unambiguously to specialist groups using reasoned arguments.

LO26. Demonstrate learning skills to enable further study in a self-directed or independent manner.

LO27. Use innovative technologies (including artificial intelligence) to perform domain-specific professional tasks.

LO28. Evaluate the sustainability of innovative proposals that are put into practice.

LO29. Establish a quality assurance system for professional practice. Professional prospects for graduates (English):

  • a) Human resources specialists or managers in public administration or the private sector;
  • b) Analysts or advisors/consultants in the field of employment and organisation;
  • Selection, training, health and quality of life at work officers; and
  • d) Employment relation specialists.
