The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) at university opens up many opportunities but it must be placed within a framework of responsibility.Aspects such as ethics, data security and the ecological impact of technologies must be part of our perspective.
If you want to address, from a critical and determined perspective, the challenge of the presence and absence of Artificial Intelligence, taking into account ethical and legal considerations, we encourage you to use the PIO Education Model, which will help to foster and limit its use when appropriate, and thus improve the teaching and preparation of students for the challenges of responsibility and autonomy that these technologies present in everyday life.
It is also worth noting that generative AI tools do not always offer reliable results, they do not have the nature of a legal entity and for this reason, they are not responsible for the responses given. They can invent quotes, oversimplify or reproduce biases. It is therefore essential to check the information and validate the results before incorporating them into our study or in teaching
It is important to specify the use we can make of AI in the subject, appealing to academic integrity and reminding students that the authors of a work are responsible for all its content, including its veracity.
