Technical resources

The Support Programme for people with a disability puts the following technical resources at the disposal of people with a disability:

  • FM broadcasting station consisting of a ZoomLink Transmitter (FM transmitter with directional multi-microphone system).  To display your image, click on the right button of the mouse on the place reserve by image and select "image’s properties" and a MyLink emitter (through magnetic induction) with a double charger for MyLink with ZoomLink
  • Software for people with a visual impairment at the UdG’s libraries. Each of the libraries has a point adapted for people with a visual impairment. These points consist of a computer with the Jaws program (screen reader) and Zoomtext (screen enlarger). They also have ABBYY FineReader installed, an OCR app that can construct formatted text through images that come from a scanner or camera digital.
  • Specific software for people with dyslexia.
  • TV MAGNILINK X READER 19'’ magnifying glasses. The magnifying glasses installed in our libraries will enable people with poor vision or reading difficulties (dyslexics) who require enlarged texts and printed images to read the various documents available for viewing.
  • Digital recorder. For people with difficulty writing.

In addition, here you also have a list of free software that we were provided during the LOW TECHNOLOGIES: HIGHLIGHTING COMMUNITY INITIATIVES conference (organised by the University of Vic in November 2012). They correspond to the recommendation made by César Mauri of CREA Computer Systems and Tarragona Province Cerebral Paralysis Association. These programs are free and can be downloaded and installed on PCs.

  • GNOME Orca, NVDA: free screen readers guided by keyboard actions, mouse or a brille Interface. It is also a screen magnifier.
  • Dasher: text-input system when the keyboard cannot be used.
  • ARASAAC: pictograms and related software. The ARASAAC portal offers graphic and material resources to enable persons with some type of difficulty in this area to communicate.
  • SAW, Plaphoons (dynamic communicator for persons with speech or mobility difficulties. From icons and drawings), TICO...
  •  AutoHotKey: easy-writing keyboard
  • TeclaAcces: for people with reduced mobility
