Students who do the dual bachelor's degree will obtain the two-year Master in Computer Engineering from the University of Cassino (Master’s Degree in Ingegneria Informatica ), and the one-year master Medical Image Computingoffered at the UdG. The programme promotes international mobility among students. Students spend the entire first year in Italy, doing courses in Computer Engineering and do the master’s degree Medical Image Computingoffered at the UdG in their second year. That enables students to obtain their dual degree in two years.
The main purpose of the programme is to educate students in developing and using software apps to help with computer-assisted diagnosis computer in medical environments. The programme puts special emphasis on image-processing and analysis techniques as well as also the application of the AI strategies (Deep Learning) clearly being introduced in this field of application, as with many others. Thanks to the training provided, this master's degree therefore provides unique IT-level knowledge, especially in the field of medical imaging, from acquisition to recent designing and programming techniques, to extract image markers (biomarkers), not to mention the use of AI and Big Data algorithms that allow images to be automatically analysed.
