Research Group in Environmental Physics

Real-time data

The station is managed by the Environmental Physics Group from the Department of Physics at the University of Girona. It has several weather and radiometric sensors placed on the roof of Building II of the Polytechnic School. The information presented in the web is permanently updated and corresponds to aggregated values of measures carried out every second. Apart from the last measured values of various magnitudes you will also find the developments of the last 36 hours and last week. Also a hemispherical image of the sky is shown on the station and the forecasts and ultraviolet radiation index measures during the day.

Current weather conditions
Current weather conditions. The precipitation corresponds to the one accumulated since the previous midnight.
Air temperature and humidity
Development of the air temperature and humidity over the last 36 hours.

Air temperature and humidity
Development of the air temperature and humidity over the last 7 days.

Atmospheric pressure and precipitation
Evolution of atmospheric pressure and rainfall over the last 36 hours. The pressure has been corrected and corresponds to the sea level; the rainfall corresponds to the accumulated figure since the previous midnight of each day.Atmospheric pressure and precipitation
Evolution of atmospheric pressure and rainfall over the last 7 hours. The pressure has been corrected and corresponds to the sea level; the rainfall corresponds to the accumulated figure since the previous midnight of each day.Wind speed and direction
Evolution of wind speed and direction over the last 36 hours.

Wind speed and direction
Development of the wind speed and direction over the last 7 days.

Global and diffuse solar radiation
Development of the total horizontal solar irradiance and its diffuse component, over the last 36 hours.

Global and diffuse solar radiation
Development of the total horizontal solar irradiance and its diffuse component, over the last 7 days.

Ultraviolet radiation index (UVI)
Development of the ultraviolet radiation index (UVI), during today. The forecast for clear skies corresponds to a simulation carried out with a radioactive transfer model, introducing the forecast of the overall stratospheric ozone column. The forecast of the overall stratospheric ozone column on Girona is obtained daily from the Tropospheric Emission Monitoring Internet Service, TEMIS (The Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute, KNMI).

UV protection
Recommendations for protection against excessive levels of ultraviolet solar radiation.

Last capture from the SONA camera
Last image of the sky captured with the SONA hemispheric-view camera. The time of the capture, stated above on the left of the image, corresponds to coordinated universal time (UTC).
