Presentation The Environmental Physics Research Group consists of seven permanent professors from the Physics Department who are temporarily joined by predoctoral students, postdoctoral researchers, part-time professors and other collaborators. The group carries out research into physical phenomena that take place in aquatic systems (lakes, oceans, marshes...) and in the atmosphere. More specific lines of research focus on the hydrodynamics of natural aquatic systems, particle transport, water quality, and the eco-innovative solutions for the treatment and reuse of wastewater as well as on the transfer of radiation into the atmosphere, including the interaction between clouds and aerosols, and the evidence for, processes and modelling of climate and climate change. For the past 12 years the Environmental Physics Group has been recognized by the Government of Catalonia as a consolidated research group (SGR), and has a large number of alliances with other groups not only from within the University of Girona itself, but also with other Catalan and Spanish research centres and international institutions.
