World Water Day

22 March

The Faculty of Science (FC) wants to make the most of World Water Day to express its concern about the extreme drought we are suffering acutely in our counties, and note that some water-saving measures have been taken that are starting to give results. In particular, some procedures have been changed in the laboratory and some instruments have been substituted that in certain conditions use substantial amounts of water, which has meant important reductions in consumption. The faculty’s use of water in 2023 was notably lower than in 2022 and the consumption forecast for 2024 shows a positive trend in bringing down consumption levels much further still. The team at the office of the dean for the faculty wishes to make the most of this day to urge the entire community to exercise maximum responsibility and help us cut consumption.
