Dr Jesús Granados Sanchez is currently Lecturer in Social Studies Education and core member of the Education Research Institute (IRE) of the University of Girona. Currently, he is the coordinator of the Master in secondary teacher initial training. Jesús holds a PhD in Education with a thesis on Education for Sustainability and Teaching Geography. Graduated in Geography (UAB), he also holds a Master in Social Sciences Education (UAB) and a Master in Environmental Education and Communication (ISEMA). Jesús formerly worked as Lecturer in Geography, Environment and Sustainability at the School of Education, University of Glasgow (2014-2016) and also was the Research and Content Coordinator of the Global University Network for Innovation (UPC-UNESCO-UNU) (2011-2013). Previously to that, Jesús was a university teacher in UAB (2004-2011) and in Universidad de la Rioja (2003). His main fields of research are geography education, learning and teaching methodologies in geographical thinking, sustainable global citizenship and its education, sustainable education, curriculum reorientation, social studies education, higher education institutional change, community-university engagement, innovative participatory approaches to learning, the change of social structures and the re-conceptualization of personal agency from a critical realist perspective, and teacher education.
