About the UdG

Minimum training activities

To be carried out before starting teaching activities

Go to "La meva UdG > Teaching > Course” and you will find three courses arranged which make up this minimum training:

  • UdG Environment: what do you need to know?
  • Moodle for everybody
  • Teaching and Telework Tools

All teaching staff at the UdG must know the contents that these courses offer. They are open in "La meva UdG" indefinitely so everybody can continue with the courses and the contents will always be available for consultation. Each one of these courses provides independent work documents and material for learning and familiarising yourselves with the various subjects. In addition, you will also find online tips in video format and online recordings of sessions on these subjects.

"UdG Environment: what do you need to know?"

Finally, the "UdG Environment: what do you need to know?" course (access from "La meva UdG> Teaching > Courses" ) includes information, staff, regulations, templates etc., on five issues:

  • Data protection and right to image
  • Copyright: creating, reusing and disseminating
  • Health and safety in teaching activities
  • UdG style book: guidelines for using educational materials
  • Prevention and action against situations of violence or harassment
  • Gender Perspective in teaching

"Moodle at hand"

The "Moodle at hand" (course access from "La meva UdG> Teaching > Courses" ) is divided into three levels of difficulty (basic, medium and advanced). All teaching staff must carry out the basic one at the very least, as it includes the contents defined as minimum skills.

The course provides for six areas of contents, with independent work material, on how to organise and explain courses, how to offer contents, how to prepare activities, how to assess them and how to communicate with students. It is organised so you can keep on progressing independently and at your own pace in learning and using Moodle. It includes a recording of one of the sessions held online on the main aspects of Moodle for preparing a subject.

"Teaching and Telework Tools"

The "Teaching and telework tools" course (access from "La meva UdG > Teaching >Courses" ) includes independent work guides and material on the following tools available to all teaching and research staff:

  • Blackboard Collaborate (a tool integrated into Moodle for giving classes and collective tutorials)
  • Google Meet (tool recommended for giving individual and collective tutorials)
  • Microsoft Teams (tool recommended for holding team and work meetings, for communicating with other teaching or administrative and service staff members etc.)
  • Tutorial agenda (activity integrated into Moodle for managing tutorials with students)

As for the Blackboard Collaborate tool in particular, you will find recordings of three online sessions, the last of which focuses specifically on clearing up any queries over its use.
