Master's Degree in Advanced Catalysis and Molecular Modelling

Internships

The MACMoM has an optional 12 ECTS (300 hours) work placement. The Master's Coordination Office recommends that students and companies combine the work placement with the Master's thesis (TFM, 12 ECTS - 300 hours) in order to enjoy a longer training period. The stay can be complemented with up to 150 hours of extracurricular work experience (as the legal maximum per academic year is 750 hours).

The in-company work placement corresponds to training undertaken by a student in a national or foreign company, with the aim of applying and complementing the training acquired in the master's degree, bringing the student closer to the reality of the environment in which he/she will exercise his/her professional activity.

There is only compulsory remuneration from the company in the case of extracurricular placements, which are regulated by a specific agreement. However, for in-company placements, compensatory remuneration is negotiated individually with each company, which is reflected in the corresponding curricular placement agreement.

The selection of placement companies and candidates starts during the first semester. The coordinator collects offers and interests, and the selection of the candidate is made by the entity itself once it has evaluated the CVs of the interested students and has carried out the corresponding interviews, where appropriate. When an agreement is reached, a pre-assigned offer is entered onto the UdG's PIPE placement platform to generate the corresponding agreement to be signed by the company, the student and a member of the UdG's Faculty of Science. In all cases a tutor in the company and an academic tutor must be assigned. The delivery and evaluation of the work will also be done through the PIPE platform.

The content and structure of the report to be prepared can be found in the Faculty of Sciences’ Regulations for Work Placements in Companies.
