Intervention processes and decision-making in family fostering in Catalonia:

rethinking the role of the professionals involved

This research is based on the following research questions:

  • Which elements intervene in the decision-making of the professionals throughout process of the family fostering in foreign-national families?
  • Which role do they given children or teenagers during their intervention and in decision-making? And the fosterer?
  • How can professionals find out the results of their interventions and decision-making, especially regarding impact on the well-being of children and teenagers?

 

The EAIA, ICIF and EFI are taking part in the research.

Duration: 1 year, 2020

This research relates to that of “The development of specific skills in family fostering: keys to the accompaniment of the foster families for improving children’s well-being” developed by the Dr Nuria Fuentes-Peláez (UB), who has had the same commission and selection process.
